You choose a note type before you record - but the choice is not locked. If the consultation turns out to be something other than expected, you can switch to another template without starting over.
Where do you switch?
The template appears at the top of the note panel, where you review and correct the draft. From here you choose another note type from the list. There is no separate place to go - the switch happens in the same place where you read the note.
What happens to the note?
When you choose a new type, the note is generated in the new template's structure - with the sections and order that type uses. The content from the consultation carries over into the new form.
Our recommendation: switch template before you correct much manually. That way you get the whole note clean in the new structure before you polish it.
When is it useful?
The switch is handy when an ordinary consultation develops - for example into a certificate or a referral note. Then you simply choose the right type, instead of rewriting it by hand.
In doubt about which type fits? See the guide on choosing a note type.
