People's Clinic is template-driven. That means each note type is a template that gathers the right information in a fixed order. You choose the note type before you record - and you can switch along the way if the consultation develops.
The four categories
The note types are divided into four categories. Which ones are available depends on your profession and your plan.
- SOAP - the standard format for consultation notes. Comes in several variants, including SOAP, SOAP - Short and SOAP - Mental. Suits the vast majority of consultations.
- Annual check - for the routine checks of chronic disease, for example diabetes, COPD and thyroid conditions. Used in general practice.
- Certificates - for medical statements and certificates, for example LÆ 135 and LÆ 145. See the guide on referrals and certificates.
- Other - for everything else, for example telephone consultations and referral notes.
How to choose
Start with SOAP. It covers the ordinary consultation and is a safe starting point if you are in doubt. Choose a more specific type when the consultation has a clear purpose - an annual check, a certificate or a telephone call.
You choose the note type in the note panel, before you record. The template appears at the top, so you can always see which type you are working on.
The types follow your profession
The note types are tailored to professions. Annual checks and LÆ certificates belong to general practice, while other professions meet the types that suit their work. The list grows continuously as more templates are added.
